Job overview and responsibilities

United is seeking talented and motivated Cloud and Package developers to participate in providing the Tech Ops Business a modern agile solution platform. The Cloud and Package Developer will partner with the business team to plan, design, develop and launch various projects dealing with the latest Cloud and Package technologies that drives simplification and enhances the portfolio. The Developer is experienced with new Cloud and COTS technologies and has a passion to remain in touch with new technologies as they emerge in the marketplace. The Developer is self - sufficient, requires little direct supervision but general guidance and direction.        

• Partner with the Business team and IT to prepare and program various projects related to the latest Cloud and Package technologies
• Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
• Possess a deep knowledge of AWS and 3rd party frameworks
• Deliver state of the art Cloud and COTS experiences across the different functions Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing
• Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects
• Quickly integrate and update projects Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers
• These solutions are mission critical and crucial to various front-end as well as server-based applications    
• Provide technical insight on existing Cloud and COTS platforms to improve performance, availability and utilization optimizations
• Performs research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform
• Evaluate, suggest and implement third party software as needed
• Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems
• Reviews estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability    
• Partner with the Business and IT teams to test and iterate on developed software and programs
• Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as “proof concepts” move to production
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing

Qualifications

Required 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related required
• 3+ years of experience in application design, development, installation and modification of software required
• 1+ years of experience developing distributed systems using AWS
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to work with vendors and 3rd party software providers for a full application solution
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment required
• Must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment required
• Experience with distributed programming practices
• Experience with integration development for COTS applications
• Experience with Serverless (Fargate, Lambda), C#, .NET Core, JavaScript, React, REST, SQL Server, and NoSQL DBs (MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of networking is a plus
