Summary

The Development Officer for Corporate and Foundation Giving is responsible for the development, gift solicitation, and management of corporate, foundation, and foreign embassy funding relationships on behalf of the National Gallery. The position reports to the Director of Strategic Giving.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1001-11.

For this position,candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the NF-9 level in the Federal service, development, gift solicitation, and management of corporate, foundation, and foreign embassy funding relationships for a major organization’s development office.

Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates.

  1. Ability to apply fundraising skills, strategies, and practices to cultivating prospective corporate and foundation donors.
  2. Outstanding writing and editing skills with experience and a proven track record of creating successful fundraising or business proposals, white papers, or other polished written materials.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience using tools like Raiser’s Edge, PowerPoint, and other presentation design software.
  4. Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
