POSITION OVERVIEW
A rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com, is seeking a motivated Device Engineer Intern who wants to be part of a fast-paced, rapidly growing team.
Very few small companies innovate and develop across such a broad range of technologies as Alarm.com. This position is ideal for the candidate who seeks a small, friendly company culture where one can work closely with smart and highly productive people across a very interesting spectrum of wireless, software, and hardware/device technologies to develop outstanding consumer products.
Responsibilities:
Work with multiple cross-functional teams to assist with the evaluation of robotics experiments, including but not limited to:
- Developing debug tools during testing
- Developing tools to quickly visualize logs from hardware
- Evaluating algorithm performance
- Parameter tuning
- Running and maintaining long term data collection endeavors.
- Strong oral & written communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with others
Qualifications:
- In progress Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer engineering.
- Experience in debugging and testing types (functionality, regression, stress) on hardware and software.
- Interest and/or experience in robotics platform and/or video technology
- Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Experience in Computer Vision
- Experience in Python programming for testing and validation efforts.
- Experience with C/C++ coding
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Experience and interest in running and using Linux command line operations and scripts
- Experience in embedded software development with Linux platforms is a plus.
- Experience with Linux kernel, board support packages, and environments such as Yocto, buildroot, OpenWRT, and Android a plus.
- Experience with wireless communication, such as WiFi and other IoT protocols a plus.
