As a DevOps Engineer on our team, you are the backbone of our strategic initiatives and will be responsible for developing technology critical to the success of our projects as well as national security.

This position supports the development and deployment of software tools that assist warfighters in planning for combat missions, simulating weapons effects against high-priority targets, and then communicating solutions. You will work with a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team composed of software, cloud, and security engineers as well as end-users to create these critically important applications using the next generation of 3D graphics, fast-running physics-based models, and geospatial assets.

As a valued team contributor, your tasks will include updating and improving existing development infrastructure, performing continuous monitoring tasks of production environments, creating new and updating existing Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment DevOps pipelines, automating the provisioning of build VM's and Kubernetes clusters, addressing security findings found in SAST/DAST/Image Scans, and much more.

Due to the work you'll perform and interactions with intelligence community and DoD programs you must be a US citizen and will need to be eligible to apply for and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment).

Remote work is available but Raleigh, NC or San Antonio, TX is preferred.

DevOps Engineer Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science along with 5-7 years of related experience OR 3-5 years of experience with a Master's Degree.

DevSecOps Engineer Required Technology & Skills:

Successful candidates will possess an extensive background in 3 or more of the following as well as demonstrate a strong desire to learn 3 or more of these skill sets:

  • CI system (TeamCity, Jenkins, Gitlab, or equivalent)
  • 1+ year Modern Programming Language (JavaScript, Java, C++, or Python) + Shell scripting experience (Bash)
  • 2+ years Linux experience (RHEL or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Docker containerization
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, etc)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket plus Git experience
  • A team player personality with excellent communication skills will be essential

Required Certifications (or able to obtain):

  • AWS Certification (any Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps, DevOps)
  • CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8570 equivalent)

Preferred Experience & Skills as a DevOps Engineer:

In addition to the experience and skills above, if you have any of the following you will be able to accelerate your effectiveness and impact.

  • Security clearance (minimum ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance)
  • Experience working with REST APIs via curl and Postman
  • Developing Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Mitigation of security vulnerabilities (CVE, etc)
  • Working with Static and Dynamic Code Analysis tools (SAST/DAST)
  • Performing container image scanning
  • Working in a modern software lifecycle (Agile, etc)
  • Working with code repositories (Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab)
  • Kubernetes Day 2 Operations, defining YAML, Helm Charts, Rancher/RKE2/K3S
  • Familiarity with GitOps tools (FluxCD or ArgoCD)
  • VMWare virtual machines (Desktop and ESXi)
  • Self-starter, able to get tasks done with minimal assistance
  • A strong desire to continuously learn new technology
  • Portfolio of personal/hobby projects on GitHub

Anticipated salary range: $80,000-$120,000. Offer may vary depending on experience and skill set.
