Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM API Connect is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our growing Hybrid Cloud API Connect team. API Connect is an integrated API management offering with capabilities and tooling for all phases of the API lifecycle. We are looking for experienced engineers with agile DevOps and Pipeline experience in cloud native web-based products and managed services. The skills required include sound knowledge of DevOps tools and technologies CI/CD workflows Infrastructure as code Docker Kubernetes OpenShift and Python programming skills along with build pipeline automation. Our ideal candidates must have demonstrated technical and problem-solving skills while deploying and supporting CI/CD pipelines using the latest platform development techniques on container-based products. They should have a passion for technology and software teaming skills able to work in a driven environment and exhibit creative thinking and collaboration while communicating effectively.

As an DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Jenkins and Artifactory Administration.
  • Deployment and maintenance of Infrastructure servers and services.
  • Automation and documentation of repeating tasks.
  • Design build deploy support and maintain effective CI/CD pipelines running automation jobs.
  • Product release packaging and upload.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Jenkins administration
  • Artifactory administration
  • JFrog CLI
  • Scripting languages Groovy/Bash/Python
  • Git/Github Enterprise
  • Deployment administration and troubleshooting of
    • Docker
    • Docker container images
    • Kubernetes
  • Ansible
  • VMWare basic administration in VSphere
  • Linux server/VM deployment and administration
  • Public cloud providers (like IBM Cloud AWS Azure)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • OpenShift
  • Travis Tekton or other CI tools
  • Agile development process
  • Perl node.js golang programming languages
  • Core Networking protocols – TCP/IP DNS NTP
  • Shared Storage – Rook/Ceph
