Summary

Simplot Foods is on a transformational journey focused on delivering value to our customers now and in the future. Digital Delivery Team is a critical piece of delivering on that value, and is responsible for understanding, modeling, and becoming a subject matter expert in foods data. This role will contribute to building the blocks within the digital area to create a successful user experience for our Simplot Foods customer facing applications and syndication. This role will be critical to Simplot foods and how their data inter-relates. Successful candidate working closely with Integration engineers and internal IT system owners to help build out an API layer to manage that user experience, provide insight across that data across the digital group. We are currently looking for an innovative and driven collaborator interested in joining our Digital Delivery Team to provide solutions for our Food Business Partners and help inspire a data-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and support of our Digital Delivery Foods data model for user experience
• Assist with and work through Design, build, and maintenance of reliable pipelines to move and transform data accurately based on architectural standards (using SSIS, SQL, Azure, Mulesoft, and our PIM)
• Work with an internal Digital Team to Build, test, and deploy standardized API end points for use within Digital
• Understand Foods Business needs to prototype and productionalize a data standardization and API Architecture that provides standardized layer for application data
• Utilize Azure DevOps for work item management and Git source control to participate in design and code reviews, documentation, and subsequently contribute to company-wide standards
• Cultivate cross-functional collaborative relationships with Product Owners and Technology and Data Science Professionals
• Communicate technical and business topics to key Food Business Stakeholders
• Manage time across project, support, and enhancement initiatives
• Drive future Foods data expertise to proactively align to Business strategy for a diverse global food enterprise

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Other Information

• 8+ years of relevant works experience to qualify as Engineer III
• Strong experience writing advanced SQL queries
• Strong experience designing and building standardized API's
• Extensive experience developing user experience data layers using technologies such as SSIS
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience understanding and utilizing semantic layers with technologies such as SSAS, MDX, Power BI, or DAX
• Knowledge of query performance tuning and index design (SQL Server preferred)
• Working knowledge of Data Lake Technologies a plus
• Mulesoft knowledge a plus
• Possesses a growth mind set and eager to learn new technologies/methods to contribute to a collaborative Team
