What you’ll do:

  • Provide technical and analytical leadership to others in the development of a broad range of complex models that support business needs

  • Lead the development of our time series forecasting models for growth, retention, probabilistic segmentation

  • Lead the development of our predictive algorithms across a number of different areas all with the aim of better understanding our customer and our business

  • Work with company executives to identify specific and actionable opportunities to solve existing business problems through data modeling and in collaboration with engineering, product and business teams

  • Iterate on existing and prototype new algorithms with robust test coverage and work with engineering to integrate into our production code base

  • Identify new opportunities that can benefit from data science analysis and present those findings

  • Be the expert at utilizing data sources across the organization with ability to integrate data across multiple platforms

  • Productionize models with the engineering team to ensure results are accessible to other teams and available for additional analyses

  • Lead a small team of principal data scientists and statisticians

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple business units to deliver advanced analytics solutions

  • Ability to utilize data sources across the organization with ability to integrate data across multiple platforms

  • Able to use machine learning techniques to predict different user’s likelihood to retain/churn

  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning) and advanced statistics (time series forecasting, clustering algorithms, probabilistic models)

  • Build forecasting models for various KPIs and metrics to support the goal setting process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, and computer science, or equivalent years of experience

  • 10+ years relevant experience managing and/or directing a Data Science team

  • 5+ years of experience making predictions based on past and/or present data through the development of statistical and/or mathematical models

  • Experience developing scalable mathematical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be shared cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field

  • Strong coding experience in one (or more) data programming languages like Python/R, additional experience with scientific libraries like Numpy, Pandas, or equivalent libraries a plus.
