Position Description:
Leads a high-performing team responsible for delivering high quality data analysis and visualizations by reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and revenue reconciliations. Queries data using Alteryx, Tableau, Visual Basic, R, SQL, and Data Visualization tools. Develops technical solutions to navigate the complex Medicare network of decisions and builds business solutions to meet the needs of Medicare beneficiaries. Drives organizational initiatives that aim to grow organizational scale and efficiency through an enhanced carrier commission reconciliation strategy. Designs monthly reporting routines on domain KPI's across a distributed team consisting of multiple functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Delivers high quality business insights through reoccurring and ad-hoc data analysis requests.
- Collaborates with analytics and reports teams across the enterprise.
- Identifies best practices and forms trusted internal partnerships.
- Identifies optimal research and analysis methodologies.
- Provides key findings and resolves a broad range of complex business inquires.
- Deploys tools for data normalization and visualization.
- Increases the quality and effectiveness of business process data.
- Implements data validation rules and drives automation endeavors.
- Builds interactive dashboards, creates engaging presentations, and develops insightful research projects.
- Ensures timely and accurate payment of revenue from a growing book of insurance carrier partners.
- Drives data-driven decision making by translating complex data and insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels and products.
- Manages the ongoing commission reconciliation process.
- Mentors and manages a matrixed team of analysts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer and Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or closely related occupation) performing relational and dimensional data modeling, and maintaining and analyzing financial services datasets.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer and Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or closely related occupation) performing relational and dimensional data modeling, and maintaining and analyzing financial services datasets.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing on premise, Cloud data management platforms using Oracle and Snowflake; performing database design by creating Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data models for data integration and processing; writing performant SQL stored procedures, triggers, indexes, statistics, and scripts to implement ETL processes and data migration procedures from data sources -- MS Azure, SQL Server, Oracle, Sage database (MAS90), and Snowflake; and performing data analysis using advanced statistical techniques -- regression analysis, cluster analysis, time series analysis, and Machine Learning (ML) using Python and R.
- DE collaborating across the enterprise to analyze and extract business requirements, and translate those requirements into data and governance solutions, using JIRA, Trello, ServiceNow, and Agile processes; performing enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) deliveries, by creating reporting packages and data visualizations from systems of record, using SQL, SQL server, Python, Tableau, and Microsoft SSRS or SSIS; and collaborating with BI developers to structure and tune data to support business intelligence needs.
- DE performing relational and dimensional data modeling and analyzing datasets for cross functional teams, using SQL Server Management Studio, Erwin Data Modeler, Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, and DBeaver; and mentoring BI consultants or developers in extracting data and developing reports, using Microsoft SSIS or SSRS, Qlikview, Alteryx, Python (Pandas, Seaborn, and Matplotlib), and Tableau.
- DE translating business requirements into technical designs using business and functional requirement documents in an Agile environment, using draw.io, Visio, and MS Word; performing wireframing using Figma; creating auditing reports and implementing reporting solutions -- multiplatform reporting, data analysis, and establishing role-based cross department data access -- using Oracle, Snowflake, Qlikview, Alteryx, and Tableau Server.
