What you’ll do:

  • Manage the data engineering team, provide leadership and guidance, and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to understand business needs and develop data solutions that support business objectives.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • Design and implement data transformation pipelines to clean, normalize, and enrich data in the data warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain reporting solutions to enable data-driven decision-making, using reporting tools such as Looker and Tableau.
  • Develop and maintain data integration pipelines using tools such as FiveTran, Simon Data, and Google Analytics.
  • Develop and maintain data warehousing solutions using cloud-based technologies such as SnowFlake and BigQuery.
  • Develop and maintain tagging solutions using Google Tag Manager to enable effective tracking of user behavior on the company's digital platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize data infrastructure performance, including data pipeline latency, data processing time, and query performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and apply them to improve the company's data infrastructure and processes.
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives and other organizational leaders to understand their data needs and provide strategic guidance on data engineering initiatives that align with business goals.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data integration and data transformation
  • 3+ years of experience managing data engineering teams
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data warehousing technologies such as SnowFlake and BigQuery
  • Highly proficient programming skills in SQL and Python
  • Extensive experience with reporting tools such as Looker and Tableau

  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • You are a player/coach that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Important note: We strive to hire values-aligned people because we believe it takes each and all of us to be successful, and lead with grit, speed and a clear vision of where we’re headed. In a remote setting, interviewing at Tecovas may include phone interviews, virtual “on-site” interviews, and on-the-job mock cases. We are committed to run a thorough process for candidates with whom we identify a potential match, and we will do our best to follow-up with each and every applicant! If you’re on the fence, just give it a try!

Hiring process and disclaimer: Should you receive an offer from us after going through the interview process, a background check will be conducted prior to onboarding. The results of a background check are evaluated as part of the hiring process, but this does not mean that you will not be considered for the job based upon the results. We are an equal opportunity employer and we encourage everyone to apply!
