What you need to know:

AIG is looking for a Director -Data Engineering! The Data Engineering Director leads one or more teams of highly skilled data engineers who will analyze functional team requirements and drive the build of data systems and pipelines to support strategic insurance deliverables.

About the role:

• Strong knowledge of insurance data (P&C)
• Experience in leading an ETL team
• Experience in managing projects using Agile methodology
• Strong knowledge in data integration solutions and architecture
• Experience with leading Large scale cloud data solutions
• Strong knowledge in data integration techniques and deployments

• Knowledge of relational databases/NOSQL/Cloud data frameworks/Cloud data warehouses
• Must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, perceptive, ambitious and flexible

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years' experience in a large Fintech/Insurance Tech environment working on data solutions
• Excellent understanding and application of constructs and tools such as DataStage, QualityStage, PitneyBowes (Spectrum), Informatica, Matillion, Ab Initio, Data Virtualization, Data Visualization, Information Analyzer, Unix/Linux, Big Data, Cloud, Netezza, ETL processes,
• Proficiency in SQL coding and remediation for performance
• Strong knowledge of Cloud based data solutions and frameworks (EMR, SPARK, PYTHON)
• Strong working knowledge of Snowflake
• Strong Knowledge Oracle, UDB, DB2, Sybase, Amazon RDS and SQLServer
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to both a business and IT audience.
• 6+ years' experience of managing leading delivery solutions at a large complex enterprise.
• Strong Communication, Process improvement, analytical mindset, documentation.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives
• Effective management skills to mentor, plan, track and communicate
• Ability to work in a highly matrix organization and manage virtual teams of onshore and offshore resources.

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $115,000 - $170,000. For positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $123,000 - $163,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
