ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Director of Data Management to lead, manage, mentor, and build an extremely talented data team to execute data initiatives, leading to the development of useful insights and the improvement of the business's performance and growth.

This role directs and oversees the design and development of systems used for managing data such as data warehouses, data stores, and other business intelligence systems. They are a hands-on leader; ideally someone who comes from a reporting, data warehousing, or ETL background, but now wants to focus on architecting cloud-based analytics platforms and enterprise implementation.

This role demands a blend of technical expertise and business acumen to articulate the link between the company's data-related technical capabilities and business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the overall quality and availability of data platforms and reports for the business, with a strong knowledge of data management principles, data architecture, modeling/design, data quality, security, data organization, and operations
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to shape a shared, data-driven, strategic vision across the company
• Understand the business ecosystem, obtain and ingest new reference data sources, define and analyze metrics that evaluate our trajectory and inform the success of our products
• Translate insights into product direction and empower cross-functional partners to execute in a data-informed manner throughout the entire product life-cycle
• Drive analytics development with internal engineers, architects, and other functional experts.
• Use a strong technical background and understanding of data architecture and how it can be leveraged, combined with communication skills to present the value of data to different business leaders
• Cultivate a culture of executional excellence and analytical rigor; support, develop, and grow a healthy analytics organization
• Think creatively about user problems, guide broader teams in their analytics studies and experimentation to identify new product opportunities and shape product strategy
• Become a key expert on what data is available for the enterprise and how it can be leveraged to support the organization's missions
• Maintain relationships with members of the organization who perform analytics work to understand their needs and find ways to improve their capabilities and output quality

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of Data & Digital professional experience
• 2+ years in a Director level position, with teams of 5+ across skill sets such as Data Science, Data Engineering, or Product Management
• Experience working in e-commerce space is a plus
• Education or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing effective analytics solutions using Amazon Web Services, and services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Glue, Redshift
• Experience with ETL tools such as FiveTran or similar is a must
• Technical and ability help design and implement an efficient and credible flow of data across the organization utilizing industry best practices
• Experience working with Python, SQL, Tableau, and GCP in an agile environment is a plus
• Experience in working with internal stakeholders to understand and find ways to leverage the data the company has available to solve business problems and derive business value from data analysis

POSITION TYPE:

This is a full-time exempt position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is a hybrid role at our Headquarters in Marina Del Rey.

SALARY:

$190,000 - $220,000 with bonus eligibility
