The Opportunity
Are you passionate about data security? Adobe is looking for a Director of Data Security to join our team. In this role, you will work across Adobe to ensure data security is built into our products and services using modern practices that enable engineers.
What you'll Do
- Embed security into the overall approach and vision for data at Adobe.
- Identify, develop, and implement, in partnership with legal and engineering teams, security projects relevant to regulated data.
- Consult on data protection capabilities layered on top of data at rest or in motion to secure the contents from unauthorized access.
- Drive data classification and handling to enable the business to scale data security operations throughout the organization.
- Formulate data discovery techniques on both structure and unstructured data and work with engineering teams to guide implementation.
- Collect and analyze business and event data to drive security value and enable data utilization as a business asset.
- Partner with privacy, legal, compliance, data teams, and other internal and external resources to develop a data strategy (collection, management, storage, security, and retention) and ensure developed policies and standards meet the needs of the business and are updated as needed.
- Advise technical leadership on the proper safeguard of data residing on and transiting through virtual and physical assets.
- Report regularly to senior management, keeping them abreast of the data strategy and data security practices, including the threat landscape and the tactical controls and strategic plans to achieve success.
- Employ understanding of the applicable data laws, regulations, and standard processes that apply to the organization and advising on those requirements.
- Translate data requirements into an overarching strategy, architecture, and detailed technical requirements, to include assessing overall maturity and compliance using metrics.
What you need to succeed
- 10+ years in Information Security
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with data security; data lake experience preferred
- 7+ years working with data encryption, data loss prevention, data rights management, data classification, data lineage, and data privacy
- Demonstrable experience leading and crafting data security strategies for a software technology company
- Knowledge of cloud provider data services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of data security vendors and provider capabilities
- Ability to author policy for a large engineering organization
- Executive presence with good communication to senior leadership
- Strong security engineering experience, log management and DLP
- Familiarity with Splunk, Infoblox, Cisco products, Colibra, BigId, other similar data security technologies
- Security certifications a plus (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CEH, etc)
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $162,200 -- $303,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
