The Division currently includes 21 faculty members and 10 Advanced-Practice Providers, who provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care for children with cancer and hematologic disorders. Members of the Division have extensive research interests spanning basic research to understand cancer mechanisms, high-impact translational research, and NIH-funded clinical trials. The Division also is home to an outstanding fellowship program to train future leaders in pediatric hematology and oncology.

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is comprised of 20 divisions, six centers, and two institutes, with over 350 faculty members. The Department receives around $60 million in annual research support from the NIH and other federal and non-federal funding agencies.

UPMC Children's Hospital cares for over 80% of all hospitalized children (and over 90% of all hospitalized children under the age of 12) in our region, a large catchment area that includes Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, and Southwestern New York. Overlooking the Allegheny River and much of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, the hospital is minutes away from the downtown cultural district, home stadiums for three major league sports teams, an internationally recognized culinary scene, and renowned centers of higher learning at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie-Mellon University.
