We are seeking a Director, HR Business Partner to provide leadership and support to Ascend employees on all human capital matters. As an integral member of the business team, the position will be expected to play a significant role in strategically growing the business and developing an organizational design during a time of rapid growth and development. This position can be located in our Leawood, KS or Burlington, MA office.

This role will ensure that Ascend Learning maintains high levels of engagement and the highest standards of fairness, empowerment, meritocracy, and accountability.Ensure consistency on how managers are developed, and employees are treated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coach the segment executive leadership team in all areas of human capital with a specific emphasis on performance management, leadership development, change management, organization design and development, employee relations and staffing to build a world-class organization.
  • Employ broad expertise to design, develop and deploy strategic and frontline human resources solutions by working collaboratively with Business unit leaders, HR functional experts and other Strategic HR Business partners and specialty areas including Total Rewards, Talent Development & Talent Acquisition.
  • Architect and contribute towards the development of flexible and scalable human resources processes and strategies that will position the company to meet business challenges and attain growth aspirations. Cultivate an engaged workforce in a dynamic, mission driven, high growth.
  • Provide regular direction and deployment of resources in support of business strategy
  • Work collaboratively with HR Centers of Excellence and other Strategic HR Business partners, Legal/Compliance and the Ascend leadership team to ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, policies, and practices to maintain the highest standards of compliance and fairness.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; HR certification is preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional Human Resources leadership or business experience characterized by a high level of service, maturity, executive presence, business acumen and employee engagement.
  • Proven experience in performance management, leadership development, change management, organization design and development, employee relations, and staffing.
  • Demonstrated track record of human resources management.
  • Experience in due diligence through integration/disconnection associated with Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures.
  • Strong general knowledge of employee compensation, benefits, payroll, employee relations, recruiting, training and strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop executive leaders.

This position requires that the employee be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unlessan exemptionhas been granted by Ascend Learning for a religious, health-related, or other legally mandated reason, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law. Individuals are considered "fully vaccinated" (1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); or (2) two weeks after a single-does vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine).
