The Facilities Services & Planning ("FS&P") division plays a key role in helping Stanford Health Care accomplish this mission. With a fast-paced, tech-savvy and lean culture that focuses on goals, metrics and continuous improvement, FS&P provides non-clinical operational support to Stanford Health Care and other Stanford Medicine entities to ensure safe and successful non-clinical operations 24/7 and plan for the organization's future facility needs.

A Brief Overview

The Director of Operational Technology Services is responsible for building a team to oversee and manage all aspects of the Operational Technolgy Systems, business process automation, and data reporting for the Facilities Services and Planning (FS&P) Division. The Operational Technology Team will have oversight of multiple control systems that span the Stanford Medicine enterprise. As integration continues, the future state will introduce new operational and energy efficiencies. The Operational Technology Services department in collaboration with TDS, will be responsible for upkeeping automation systems and physical security platforms that are integrated into the Stanford Medicine Enterprise. The OTS Director serves as a key participant in the development and implementation of initiatives and strategies.

What you will do
  • Work with the organization's senior Facilities, Services, and Planning team to plan and coordinate both short- and long-term system strategy and implementation. Includes building consensus and facilitating alignment around initiative prioritization, requirements definition, design specification and budgeting. Assure initiatives align with the strategic imperatives of the organization.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget.
  • Manage the implementation of data systems and monitor of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Systems with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to ensure their effectiveness in meeting business unit needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies for gathering data from operational databases and third-party vendors for inclusion in the warehouse.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that meet tactical and regulatory requirements for the department.
  • Manage and coordinate work with all vendors, contractors, consultants, and the SMHC Technology organization in order to maintain and enhance goals.
  • Serve as liaison between non-technical business units and FS&P, communicating technical information and plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to safety, P4P's (if applicable), HIPAA and compliance policies.
  • Specific education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in qualifying.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university

Experience Qualifications
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Experience managing operational technology stsyems including: Metasys BMS, Siemens BMS, ALC BMS, DeltaV BMS, Trane, CCURE, Milestone, Lutron, Nysan, P-Tube, West-Comm/Responder (Nurse Call), Schneider/CAT (Generator Systems) and Siemens FLS, preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of system architecture and management of building management, card access, enterprise video, fire life safety, lighting, pneumatic, and other enterprise systems.
  • Skill and ability to translate concepts into well defined, documented technical requirements and present them to senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills. Self-starter with a need for minimal intervention or supervision.
  • High technical aptitude with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to appropriately adjust communication for the audience. Ability to effectively facilitate group meetings.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to varying external constituents.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, leadership, and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to identify problems and seek solutions using appropriate resources.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage staff with multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to design and implement processes and oversee execution with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to clarify directions when needed to continue tasks.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $81.45 - $107.92 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
