Day in the Life of a Director of Solutions Consultants 

The Director of Solutions Consultants engages in the presales processes with a Sales Director (SD) to help Neocol customers establish a solid architecture foundation, identify project goals and objectives, document project scope and responsibilities, and act as a trusted advisor for the success of the engagement. The Director is a big picture thinker and in-depth problem solver, your knowledge and skills are both broad and deep, you provide the bridge between technical and business acumen.


Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Directly support a team of Solutions Consultants in their journey at Neocol.
  • Support ongoing growth and development of the team including recruiting, hiring, training and mentoring.
  • Contribute & participate in leadership and team meetings.
  • Assist as a part of the coverage model with your team members when necessary.
  • Act as a feedback funnel to the SVP of Customer Success regarding your team’s performance.
  • Explore new Salesforce products and provide points of view, applicability to Neocol’s go to market strategy, relevant use cases, and business value drivers to the Solutions Consulting team

Individual Contributor Responsibilities:

  • Be a “Trusted Advisor” in the  presales process to existing customers and prospects.
  • Provide industry best practice recommendations on functional and technical scenarios.
  • Lead discovery and scoping sessions with prospects to advise, recommend, and acquire scope requirements to determine estimations.
  • Provide architecture leadership across Salesforce and ERP Systems in the presales process in order to establish a guiding principle design for the project.
  • Lead analysis of the customer’s current environment to detect critical deficiencies that could impact project success and determine Neocol roles necessary for success.
  • Collaborate with Sales Directors to identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive useful business context for program justification.
  • Create resource plans and proposals to co-present with Sales Directors to prospects and customers.
  • Contribute to existing and create reusable assets and artifacts in the presales process including scoping questions, project proposals,  SOWs, etc.
  • Draft and create scope language for assumptions and in scope/out of scope for projects.
  • Participate in “Sales to Delivery Handoff” processes to ensure the delivery team has a thorough customer overview, project goals, and scope details.
  • Identify and participate in creation  of Commercialization Strategy to solve common customer use cases and pain points
  • Be aware of technology industry (AppExchange Apps, Salesforce Apps, Third Party Solutions) and market trends (Subscription, Consumption, Analytics) to determine their potential impact on system architectures

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of people management experience in a professional services consulting environment
  • Quote to Cash Process and Common Use Case Familiarity / Domain Knowledge
  • LucidChart / Diagramming Capabilities
  • SaaS Subscription Terminology Knowledge (ARR, TCV, LTV)
  • Sales Cloud, CPQ, and Billing Expertise (Revenue Cloud)
  • Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce CPQ Certifications
  • Revenue Recognition Terminology Familiarity (ASC606, VSOE, SSP)
  • Force.com Platform Knowledge (Data Modeling, Flow, Apex)
  • ERP Familiarity (NetSuite/WorkDay/Sage Intacct)
  • Integration Design & Patterns Familiarity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Billing Badge and Advanced Billing Specialist Badge
  • Platform App Developer Certification
  • Cross Cloud Capability Familiarity (Experience/Service/B2B)
