Who you are

As the Senior Director, Project Management, you'll be responsible for project management services within the Mid-Atlantic Region and national Federal Government division to help achieve the company's strategic business objectives. You will direct and oversee the business unit's operational policies, objectives, and initiatives; to include evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures, leading change as needed to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services to Colliers clients. You'll also work with other business lines locally and nationally to identify potential targets and develop new business opportunities both in Project Management and other service centers.

What you bring
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS/BArch) required from College or University or;
  • Minimum of 10 years direct related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Prior experience in supervisory role with multiple reports.
  • Prior experience managing multiple projects in varying stages simultaneously.
  • Prior experience managing renovation and new construction projects.
  • Some prior experience with retail, restaurant, Class A/B office, Federal Government (public facing & TS/SAP), laboratory, research, hospital, parking structure, utility plant, and multi-family projects preferred.
  • Prior experience in completing detailed property surveys and ability to identify standard building issues and areas of future risk for clients.
  • Prior experience in developing comprehensive RFP response or business development activities.
  • General understanding of all construction specification divisions and various construction skills such as estimating, cost analysis, schedule development, change order review, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret all forms of construction drawings and documents.

What success looks like
  • Lead all aspects of project delivery operations, directing all phases of project management and planning including but not limited to client engagement, design services management, pre-construction, contract generation, cost and schedule control, quality control, invoicing, closeout, staffing, and profitability responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to identify complex project risk, lead constructability reviews, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks for clients and the company.
  • Ability to fluctuate with process and procedure when situations require flexibility/ingenuity and also situations which require rigid adherence to external requirements.
  • Assist clients and REMs in development of capital budgets and maintain historical records of previous projects to track changes in market conditions.
  • Perform benchmarking and client reporting as required.
  • Ensure training programs are properly developed and implemented to provide department team members the resources required to develop and grow.
  • Manage and lead regional and national project management staff and ensure thorough staff understanding and implementation of operations, policies, and procedures. Works with regional and national department heads (REMS, Brokerage, Engineering, etc) to maintain congruency in high-quality delivery across all service lines.
  • Monitor department effectiveness through internal audits, feedback from other service lines, and direct client interactions.
  • Directly and indirectly responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation for direct and indirect reports in department. Directly or indirectly manages more than ten reports ranging from Director to Project Coordinator positions.
  • Demonstrate ability to source, engage, and manage relationships with quality service vendors both regionally and nationally.
  • Monitor adherence to process and procedures regarding internal controls.
