Job Description:
The Director, Strategic Client Management leads a team that is responsible for providing superior client engagement and relationship management support. Acts as senior level ambassador and point of escalation between internal and external constituents and drives goals that support company initiatives that are mutually accretive to Discover and our acceptance payments enablers. Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
What You'll Do

  • Leads a team of sales executives in providing superior client engagement and relationship management support to drive US and global acceptance, expand adoption of critical network capabilities and protect against interchange price compression.
  • Acts as senior-level ambassador and point of escalation between internal and external constituents and drives goals that support company initiatives that are mutually accretive to Discover and our most strategic global payment partners.
  • Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.


How You'll Do It

  • Coaches and develops team(s) to enhance both business and leadership skills, driving behaviors that lead to deeper client and team engagement and success against company initiatives.
  • Provides individual leadership to effectively execute client engagement objectives and drive better synergy and support across the business to deliver against our initiatives.
  • Responsible for providing thought leadership and/or contributing to initiatives that enhance team dynamics and improve departmental success and effectiveness.
  • Manages teams of client-facing individuals with a focus on driving a competitive advantage for Discover and achieves strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Point of escalation for both internal and external team-related items.


At a minimum we need from you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in payment, account management, strategic client management or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of experience in payments, account management, strategic client management, or related field


Preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in payment, account management, strategic client management, or related field

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
