Job Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Alamo, TN, Location.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform various engineering functions, including technical analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and service.
  • Work from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other relevant information.
  • Prepare specifications and related documents per requirements, established formats, and general instructions.
  • Review and analyze engineering data, documents, and reports.
  • Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, recommending revisions as necessary.
  • Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
  • Allocate approximately 40% of the time to customer-focused activities and commercial orders, 30% to product care, and 30% to operational troubleshooting and field support.
  • Assist other engineers in preparing specifications, selecting materials and designs, drafting contract proposals, and preparing licensing and safety documents. Obtain required approvals.
  • Develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototypes, production, and retrofit builds using advanced CAD software (AutoCAD and CREO Parametric).
  • Learn and apply basic numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or a related field, with 3 to 7 years of experience. Alternatively, a unique combination of education, experience, and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Experience with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software is highly desired but not required.
  • Experience with Windchill data management or any PLM software is highly desired but not required.
  • Preferably, some experience designing or developing electromechanical products, mainly transformer components, is highly desired but not required.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
