Job Description
Fluidra’s looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team at our West Coast office in Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Engineering Technician will work in our engineering test lab assisting the design and test engineers with their research and development of Fluidra pool products. Primary responsibilities will include the building of test rigs and conducting qualification tests on pool heaters, lighting systems, water chlorination systems, filtration pumps, valves, controls, and other Fluidra products. The Engineering Technician will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance certain test equipment. Approximate time spent on tasks will be as follows:
- Assist engineers with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks associated with product testing and test fixture construction. 60%
- Equipment repair and maintenance- 15%
- Use computer to document test results and maintain repair logs- 15%
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the engineering lab and machine shop. 10%
WHAT WE SEEK
- 5 + years’ experience as an electrical, mechanical, maintenance, or test technician.
- Strong hands-on technical skills
- Electrical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable performing hands-on electrical tasks, including wiring 115/220VAC equipment and panels, and working with 208VAC 3-phase power.
- Basic familiarity with AC/DC electrical circuits.
- Comfortable utilizing basic electronics test equipment (e.g. multimeters, power supplies, timers and relays).
- Mechanical Requirements:
- Comfortable with basic hand and power tools (drills, drivers, saws, etc).
- Machine shop experience a plus
- Basic familiarity with mechanical hardware and construction materials
- Comfortable completing basic PVC plumbing tasks
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong shop-math skills, required to perform the necessary calculations to perform engineering tests and conduct inspection of various component preferred
EDUCATION
Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship or trade school is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Expected hourly range is $25.00 - $35.00/ hour. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
