Job Description

We are currently seeking an experiencedElectrical Safety Manager. Duties and Responsibilities ·Work alongside our current safety manager to ensure safe work and safe jobsites with a focus on electrical safety. · Develop and implement electrical safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA). · Lead safety meetings, training sessions and workshops for staff on electrical safety practices, general construction safety practices, safe work procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). • Collaborate with Field Crews, Superintendents, Project Managers, and Company Owners to evaluate and improve electrical safety protocols and systems. • Stay up-to-date with the latest electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations. • Manage Energized Electrical Work Permit system. • Visit jobsites to provide on-the-job training when hot work permits are required. • Visit jobsites to ensure policy compliance. • Conduct hazard assessments and identify potential safety risks across various job sites and facilities • Perform job site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards. o Coordinate and follow-up with Supervisors to manage and resolve issues • Conduct safety meetings along with other Safety managers. • Manage, develop, and update presentations (power point). · Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. • Develop and assemble project required safety documents (i.e. Site Specific Safety Plans, proof of training documents, etc.). • Manage Customer required vendor verification platforms (i.e. Avetta, ISNWorld, etc.). • Assist in emergency response planning and preparedness. • Coordinate 3rd Party trainers • Manage company owned and shared electrical safety tools/metering equipment. • Manage manufacturers suggested testing and calibration processes. • Ensure users are qualified. • Perform Pre-Start project hazard analysis • Conduct bi-monthly Safety & Risk Control Meetings with company ownership. • Travel to attend Risk Control Seminars (1-2 times per year). • Seek additional certifications and training as necessary. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have the ability to assess electrical hazards (e.g., arc flash, shock, burns) and implement risk mitigation strategies like PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), grounding, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. • Must have at least 4+ years of experience in electrical construction. • Possess a Journeyman or Master Electrician License. • Must have a minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Safety Manager. • Must possess: • A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification (degreed) or... • A Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certification (non-degreed) or... • A Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) or... • Any other recognized certification related to safety, risk management and/or training. • OSHA 500 – Trainer for the Construction Industry • Must be familiar and experienced with the requirements of the following: • OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) • OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction) • NFPA-70E • National Electrical Code (NEC) • Electrical Hazard Assessment and Risk Mitigation • Electrical system design and safety controls. • Electrical theory, design and construction methods as related to the Industrial and Commercial electrical construction sectors. * • Must have working knowledge of the OSHA requirements and safety standards related to the following, and how to apply them to electrical construction work: • Arc-Flash and Shock Hazards (and related PPE) • Work Zone Safety • Aerial Lift and Bucket Work • Qualified Electrical Worker Training • Lock-Out Tag-Out and Controlling Stored Electrical Energy • Electrical meter and testing equipment safety • Safety grounding • Must have experience in management, communication, conflict resolution, worker training, presentations, and risk management. • Able to read, write, and communicate in English and Spanish (preferred). • Must have adequate presentation skills and be able to communicate in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent in communication tools and methods. • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). • Must also be capable of learning and applying company and site safety rules to the work being performed. • Must be self-disciplined, trustworthy, and able to work productively with minimal supervision. • Must have a good driving record with minimal infractions. • Must have a background suitable for working in schools, hospitals, and other government facilities. • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
