Main mission - the disciplines of communications, networking, and PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) in support of space missions, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED). CTED projects comprise all aspects, from architectures to prototypes to implementation, theoretical to hands-on. Our engineers work directly with corporate and U.S. Government customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
We are seeking to hire an Electrical / Software Engineer - (Level I) to support within the Communication Software Implementation Department (CSID) under CTED. They will look to perform proof-of-concept studies, implements new algorithms, and builds prototypes for signal processing applications. We are subject matter experts who provide technical advice to our customers on satellite communication systems.
**This role will have the flexibility to support in a hybrid work model with some support required on-site in El Segundo, CA.
What You'll Be Doing
Job Summary:
  • The junior level candidate selected will look to design, build, code, and test software/hardware prototypes for signal processing applications
  • Deliver tech demos and briefings to staff and customers
  • Pitch ideas for new research and development projects
  • Adapt to changing industry trends and explore new concepts outside your comfort zone

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Minimum 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Software development experience in one or more of these languages: Python, C/C++, Golang, Rust, Swift, and Julia
  • Understanding of digital signal processing and RF communication fundamentals
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out:
Desired skill sets
  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Experience in satellite communications, CubeSats, or GPS/GNSS/PNT systems
  • Development experience in software-defined radio environment such as GNU Radio
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques
  • Possess an current and active U.S. Government Security Clearance - Top Secret Level.

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
