Parsons is looking for a sharp Embedded Software Engineer to join our growing Mission Solutions team!

In this role you will: be involved in all stages of the system lifecycle design, implementation, testing, delivery, and system support. Creativity is required to solve challenging, technical problems. You will design, develop, test, and implement complex solutions on embedded devises in new, third party, or open source code.
The ideal candidate is looking for a challenge in designing, building, and testing hardware to maintain and enhance our current and future platforms which includes everything from Lasers to Drones. The ideal candidate should possess a knowledge of designing, developing, and implementing cost effective methods of designing, testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. They must be self-motivated, dependable, have outstanding written and oral communication skills, and exhibit excellent interpersonal/team participation skills. They must also possess excellent analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
What You'll Be Doing:
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex integrated hardware systems. This would include computer-controlled power distribution systems, embedded microcontrollers, development of printed circuit boards, cable system design with military connectors and integration testing of developed hardware.
- Provide engineering/design support and technical expertise to include but not limited to PCB, circuit, and cable design, software/firmware engineering, sustainment, obsolescence mitigation, and test support.
- Develop complex test simulations to verify features and functional specifications.
- Collaborate with system and electrical/hardware engineers during the design phase, providing inputs on how to optimize performance within the embedded software framework.
- Participates as a member of an engineering and embedded firmware team for the design of unique electronic subsystems that will be ultimately integrated into the overall operating system.
- Initiate and host design review meetings to discuss functional specifications and facilitate the effort to translate them into software requirements.
- Interface with technical support personnel, technical writers, and engineering technicians as required.
- Keeps management informed of developmental issues through discussions, technical presentations, and reports.
- Produce technical documentation such as test plans, test report, user guides, tutorials, and application notes which support key features and product applications.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum BS in Computer Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ Years of Experience
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
- Proficient in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering drawings and printed circuit board design is required (Altium desired).
- Power system design to include AC and DC distribution. Requirement's analysis, component selection (contactors, breakers, connectors, DC-to-DC convertors), circuit analysis and packaging considerations. PCB design related to control of the power systems and controlling mechanical devices. Analysis and sizing of PCB traces for power distribution.
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers related to serial communications, discrete I/O and analog I/O. Control system theory for PID control using microcontrollers. (Microcontroller software development experience desired).

Salary Range:
$79,100.00 - $138,400.00
