Embedded Systems Engineering Lead

This company is developing innovative in-home health monitoring products. Their first product is an in-home foot-scanning system, which aims to help doctors and patients monitor for early signs of diabetic foot ulcers. The team is focused on preparing this world-class device, along with its accompanying digital health platform, for launch.

They are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineering Lead to design and develop software systems. You will have extensive experience configuring FPGAs and communication standards and protocols.

Requirements

Core responsibilities

• Bring new health monitoring devices to market
• Ensure embedded software meets physical and user constraints
• Develop Linux distribution for embedded SOMs
• Debug microcontroller firmware and configure FPGA for sensors
• Conduct automated testing infrastructure
• Prototype new features

Required

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience developing Linux systems (Yocto or Buildroot)
• Experience configuring FPGAs (VHDL or Verilog)
• Experience with communication protocols and standards (SPI, LVDS, USB, HTTP)
• Experience writing firmware for microcontrollers

Ideal candidate

• Experience working on weight scales
• Experience working on consumer electronics
• Hardware in the loop testing
• Experience working in QMS-controlled design environments or low risk medical devices
• Experience with cellular data modems
• Experience with electronic design, testing and fabrication
