The Engineer - Enterprise Solutions will be part of a product team enhancing and sustaining enterprise systems through multiple programming platforms, especially JAVA programming logic. This individual develops, maintains and improves internally developed applications and integrates with third party applications. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following duties:

Key Components

• Works with product teams in an Agile environment to develop application solutions to help achieve business objectives
• Creates effort level estimates for squad work using functional specifications and standards currently set by the application development team
• Develops unit and functional test plans; carries out unit test plans; and aids in the development and use of functional test plans; and assists in the verification of test results
• Ensures the availability of an application or product for end users consistent with Service Level Agreements
• Provides support for Restoration of Service - this includes investigation of outage cause, business impact, and quick response for problem remediation
• Monitors Applications in Production Environment through manual and automated means
• Facilitates deployment of application code enhancements to the production environment
• Communicates status of application production changes and outages
• Maintains operational documentation for core business systems - as assigned
• Responds to inquiries from users for assistance in diagnosing production system operation, data, and business process support
• Makes ongoing recommendations for operational improvements of production applications
• On-call support during off business hours will be required
• Additional duties and projects as required

Technical Components

• Software development experience in a professional environment
• Hands-on with application design, software development and automated testing
• Java Development, .NET is a plus
• Unix/Linux scripting tools
• Writes complex queries using MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL
• Solid hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, XML, XPath, Web Services, REST services
• Development IDE: JBoss Studio, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Sublime, Bracket
• Java/J2EE, XML, MaXPath, Web Services, REST services

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline; Additional 2+ years in software development, preferably using JAVA languages, or equivalent experience required. Any Supply Chain ERP experience is a plus.
