Engineer II, Modern Workspace Technology (Remote)

The Systems Engineer II (Modern Workplace Technology) position is a critical position. This position has dual roles critical to the success of the Modern Workplace Technology Directory and Messaging team. First, this position supports the planning, engineering, monitoring, automation and promotion of improved infrastructure on-prem and cloud architectures using best practices. Second, this role acts in support of the Modern Workplace Technology Directory and Messaging security liaison.
There are design and technical expectations with this position with regards to planning, engineering, automation and security of Modern Workplace Technology Directory and Messaging supported on-prem and cloud environments that include Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Exchange 2016, Infoblox IPAM/DHCP/DNS and supporting technologies, along with Office 365 workloads including TEAMS, OneDrive for Business, and others. The SEII (Modern Workplace Technology) position is a jack of all trades. They will monitor the primary and supporting infrastructure systems performance and proactively recommends their expertise to tune and optimize from an infrastructure and systems perspective as well as monitors security initiatives and requirements as they relate to Modern Workplace Technology Directory and Messaging environments. This requires an individual with an extensive background and proven experience.
As anEngineer II, Modern Workspace Technology, you will
- After hours and on call availability
- Level-4 Support of on-prem and cloud IT Infrastructures (focused on Exchange, Intune and Exchange Online)
- Monitor various on-prem and cloud IT Infrastructures (focused on Exchange, Intune and Exchange Online)
- Create and maintain custom automation/scripts to increase efficiency and lower human intervention time on operational and/or administrative tasks
- Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution of Exchange, O365 and supporting on-prem and cloud IT Infrastructures
- Act as the point of contact between the Global IT Infrastructure groups (Directory and Messaging, Server and Storage, Virtual Desktop) and the Global Security group
- Will facilitate and attend meetings between the Global IT Infrastructure groups (Directory and Messaging, Server and Storage, Virtual Desktop) and the Global Security group
- Will foster collaboration and communication between the Global IT Infrastructure groups (Directory and Messaging, Server and Storage, Virtual Desktop) and the Global Security group
- Will own the process of submitting and gaining approval of Security exceptions and required approvals, including Security Risk Assessments
- Responsible for communicating security initiatives to the Global IT Infrastructure groups (Directory and Messaging, Server and Storage, Virtual Desktop)
- Will participate in organizational audits (ie: PCI, SSAE18 and ISO27001)
- Will own the process for following Sev1 and Sev2 security incidents through to resolution and post-mortem (as needed)
- Support of Directory Services, Exchange and O365 infrastructures (as needed)
- Monitoring of Directory Services, Exchange and O365 infrastructures (as needed)
- Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution of Directory Services, Exchange and O365 infrastructures (as needed)
- Attend necessary CAB meetings to support Change Incident Management activities
- Research, document, identify and knowledge transfer root cause of issues
- Escalate to Higher Level Support and vendor support (as needed)
- Effectively collaborate with Global IT Infrastructure groups (Directory and Messaging, Server and Storage, Virtual Desktop) and the Global Security group
- Manage problem and service tickets ensuring timely resolution to meet Service Level Agreements (as needed)
- Be a resource on projects (as needed)
- Responsible to review and update relevant technical infrastructure documentation with security initiatives in mind
- Conduct training and mentoring (as needed)
- After hours and on call availability
About you
- 5+ years in Information Systems and Security *security certification a plus
- At least 3 years of experience with Windows Server 2012 and newer operating systems
- At least 3 years of experience with Exchange and O365 *Directory Services a plus
- At least 3 years of experience with Exchange 2016 in a high availability environment and in a hybrid configuration with O365
- Proficient or increasing knowledge of O365 (hybrid model) and supporting O365 supporting technologies
- Proficient with security initiatives, solutions, and best practices (Security and Risk Management)
- Familiarity with internal/external audits and evidence gathering (PCI, SSAE18 and ISO27001)
- Proficient or increasing knowledge of O365 (hybrid model) and O365 supporting technologies
- Experience with DNS (including Windows and Infoblox), WINS, PKI, KMS and AAD Connect
- Experience troubleshooting, evaluating and remediating Directory Services and supporting infrastructure issues
- Experience troubleshooting, evaluating and remediating Exchange Messaging Services issues
- Experience troubleshooting, evaluating and remediating Office 365 issues
- Experience troubleshooting using various tools
- Excellent intra and inter team communication (effective, detailed concise written and oral) skills
- Excellent customer service communications skills (effective written and oral) are required
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP stack, protocols configuration and troubleshooting
- Should have proven skills in day to day troubleshooting of technical incidents/ issues
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on ownership of issues and a commitment to resolution
- Ability to participate in critical issue escalations and drive towards restoration or resolution
- Ability to facilitate discussions to resolve technical issues with multiple teams
- Solid operational support experience and technical troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge and adherence of company networking standards and policies
- Ability to effectively create and use diagnostic tools
- Ability to learn and respond to demands in a highly technical environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment as well as independently
- Good organizational, time management and service delivery skills
- S. Degree, Computer Science or similar engineering degree or equivalent work-related experience
- Certifications - MCSE/MCSA/MCP/MCITP *preferred
- Certifications - CISSP/Security+ *preferred
- Completion or progress towards other technical certifications *preferred

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position ofEngineer II, Modern Workspace Technology is between $62,000 and $90,000.
