Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineering Intern to be based in Florida.
This position is expected to begin in May/June 2023 .
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform various technical engineering tasks for the planning, design, and construction phases of water/wastewater treatment design projects
- Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Technical tasks may include:
- Water/wastewater treatment evaluation and design
- Pump station evaluation and design
- Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design
- Sewer collection system evaluation and design
- Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on water resources, water or wastewater treatment, conveyance/pipelines, or related field.
- Must have completed one year of study
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn
- A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering concepts through coursework or work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Detail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong logic and writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Documents time and effort accurately
