Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineering Intern to be based in Florida.

This position is expected to begin in May/June 2023 .

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform various technical engineering tasks for the planning, design, and construction phases of water/wastewater treatment design projects
• Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
• Technical tasks may include:
• Water/wastewater treatment evaluation and design
• Pump station evaluation and design
• Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design
• Sewer collection system evaluation and design
• Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on water resources, water or wastewater treatment, conveyance/pipelines, or related field.
• Must have completed one year of study

Preferred Qualifications:

• A GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn
• A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering concepts through coursework or work experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Detail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong logic and writing skills
• Good communication skills
• Documents time and effort accurately
