Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern III in the Dallas, TX area.

This position is expected to begin in June 2023 .

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects
  • Assist with report writing and setup
  • Development of engineering calculations using examples and guidance of senior engineers
  • Support senior and junior engineers with office-related tasks.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
  • Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with field work as needed
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Civil or Water Resources Engineering fields
  • Must have completed three years of study in the applicable program
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering concepts through coursework or work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Familiarity with using ArcGIS
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment
