Engineering Manager

Introduction
IBM India Systems Development Lab is looking for Firmware Engineering Manager in the IBM Power Systems Firmware team.
Responsible for managing a system assurance team in firmware that runs on IBM Power Systems spanning entry level servers to enterprise level high end servers with feature rich Reliability Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features.
You will work with the OpenPOWER partners and OpenBMC community along with your team for managing the Firmware test and support activities.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Drive a team of highly skilled firmware system assurance professionals to ensure high quality product. Drive automation of tests as part of the agile development process.
• Interact with the stakeholders to unblock the team.
• Collaborate with other teams to define/set expectations/targets.
• Motivate team to continuously innovate to ensure better customer experience of firmware features. Collaboration with the open source community and IBM partners.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Excellent people management skills and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of experienced professionals
• Knowledge of development and test methodologies
• Knowledge of System hardware and software stack system Management and Virtualization
• 12+ years of relevant experience
• Experience of 4+ years in leading/managing a team
• Strong fundamentals in product development and test with at least 5+ years of experience in the area
• Excellent Communication people management and leadership skills
• Ability to pick up new areas and work with partner/clients
• Follow agile development process.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience and/or exposure to IBM Power architecture
• Experience and/or exposure to working in open source software domain
• Full stack development knowledge and experience.
