This position is responsible for....

The Engineering Program Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and executes the completion of orthopedic bracing and cold-therapy cross-functional projects per strategic product roadmaps. Projects will be a combination of large and small scaled projects for new product development, new product introductions and sustaining engineering. S/he is responsible for achieving and reporting on the goals and objectives of multiple ongoing projects, including project completions within the prescribed time frame, product cost goals, business financials, market acceptance metrics, and project budgets. S/he will ensure that portfolio project execution utilizes industry standards and conforms to Breg's quality processes. S/he identifies improvements in processes that accelerate the team performance.

Your day will be very busy... you will:

  • Leads multiple cross-functional project teams comprised of but not limited to engineering, marketing, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, IT, Finance, and supply chain to ensure completion of product development and sustaining initiatives.
  • Develops project plans and formulates all aspects of new product development, new product introductions, sustaining projects and programs including defining the project goals and objectives, activities, milestones, costs of project, equipment, and other resource requirements.
  • Coaches and mentors personnel on specific engineering tasks and competencies, design and lean six-sigma processes, project management skills and other project related methods.
  • Interfaces with functional areas to establish work plans and establishing required resourcing for each project and project phase.
  • Communicates status of project metrics and recommendations to company leadership.
  • Identifies and manages project risks using collective experience of the team and leadership.
  • Uses technical expertise and business acumen to drive project decisions to optimize cost goals, manufacturability, product quality, and customer experience.
  • Ensures regulatory, business requirements and operating expense and budgets are met on all projects.
  • Conducts and participates in project status meetings to ensure activities and decisions are effective and timely.
  • Leverages leading project management tools and methodologies to improve team execution and collaboration.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in processes used to for tracking and executing engineering projects.

What your background will be:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field of study required.
  • 10+ years of applicable engineering experiences required.
  • Project management experience in a regulated industry is required.
  • PMI or equivalent project management certification is required.
  • Experience with Agile project management method is preferred.
  • Experience in medical device design and manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with typical manufacturing methods used for orthopedic bracing molding, stamping, cut-and-sew is preferred.
  • Experience with durable medical equipment/orthopedic products is preferred.
  • Computer proficient to include MS project, web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, MS Office to include Advanced Excel skills and the ability to produce presentation-ready slides in PowerPoint. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Experience with Oracle preferred.
  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management and Quality Management Systems is required.

Salary

$125,000.00 - $165,000.00
