Job Description
Summary
As an Environmental Protection Specialist (EPS), understand and advise NASA personnel on environmental laws, regulations, policies and processes at Johnson Space Center, Ellington Field and Sonny Carter Training Facility in Houston, TX. The EPS will ensure no mission impacts result from environmental requirements for drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater programs. EPS will manage all communications with the regulators and host all internal and external compliance inspections.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
- Administering environmental compliance programs and the laws, regulations, and federal policies governing environmental compliance, including Stormwater, Wastewater and Drinking Water for large and industrial operations;
- Providing advice regarding the Petroleum Oil and Lubricant (POL) program, including spill planning;
- Supporting the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program to minimize environmental impacts of large federal or industrial projects.
