Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, project documentation, and with data analysis tools (i.e., SQL, Python).
  • Experience in the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) related to Stock-Based Compensation (ASC 718).

    Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports.     You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Participate in monthly and quarterly flux analysis, forecasting versus actuals, key trends, and highlighting areas of focus for management, including the associated internal management and external financial reporting processes.
    • Oversee the application of ASC 718, interpretation of SEC rules and guidelines, including SAB 120 and its practical application on business processes and its implication. Write accounting memos to document positions and assist in the disclosure roadmap.
    • Monitor, maintain, and improve ongoing processes which rely heavily on automated SQL based data analytics functions and SAP capabilities. Work with third-party vendors ensuring ongoing compliance to rules/regulations and internal policies.
    • Share repurchases, related disclosures, and the ongoing assessment of accounting and reporting guidance. Review and maintain related accounting policies in accordance with our internal policies, and report any accounting conventions and associated remediation.
