DESCRIPTION
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage internal controls related to our GHG (Greenhouse Gas) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Systems.
- Work closely with the ESG Strategy team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, as well as to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and implement internal controls frameworks for GHG and ESG reporting systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes related to GHG and ESG reporting systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Review and maintain internal control documentation (process maps, flowcharts, control matrices) to ensure alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements relating to GHG and System controls.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to strengthen GHG and ESG System controls.
- Develop relationships with business leadership to implement practical internal control improvements and management implementation plans relating to GHG and ESG matters.
- Collaborate with auditors and Accounting Policy to guide internal control development and address deficiencies.
- Provide GHG and ESG System internal control training to business stakeholders on internal controls and company policies.
- Develop and mentor staff to build a strong internal controls team supporting business segments, regions, or distributors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP): Apply US accounting standards to ensure compliance and communicate implications effectively.
- Business Process and Internal Control Risk Analysis: Evaluate business processes, identify risks, and implement process improvements using internal control frameworks.
- Financial Internal Controls: Assess controls, develop remediation plans, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Ensures Accountability: Hold self and others accountable to commitments.
- Business Insight: Apply market knowledge to advance organizational goals.
- Manages Conflict: Address conflicts constructively.
- Directs Work: Provide direction and remove obstacles.
- Global Perspective: Consider global implications in decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or related certification required.
Experience:
- Significant relevant work experience, including supervisory experience, required.
- Experience in managing internal controls related to GHG (Greenhouse Gas) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) systems preferred.
- Familiarity with GHG accounting protocols (e.g., WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol) and ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB, TCFD, SDGs).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to GHG emissions, climate risk, and ESG disclosure (e.g., SEC, EPA, EU regulations).
- Experience with sustainability management software, ERP systems, and data management tools for GHG and ESG reporting.
- Deep understanding of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHGs and/or regulatory experience.
- Experience with system implementation and/or BPT in the past.
- Experience in the emissions space/compliance space.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

Base Salary range commensurate with experience, range: $100,000-150,000. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range.
