Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing commercial TI projects, accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and providing comprehensive project proposals to clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, organization, interpersonal relationship management skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Estimation and Bid Preparation:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Utilize estimating software and historical data to accurately calculate project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Prepare detailed and competitive bids that meet client requirements and align with company profitability goals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy in estimates.
2. Proposal Development:
- Develop comprehensive project proposals outlining scope of work, pricing, timelines, and deliverables.
- Present proposals to clients and participate in negotiations to secure contracts.
- Address client inquiries and provide clarification on pricing and project details as needed.
3. Cost Analysis and Value Engineering:
- Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and solutions to optimize project efficiency without compromising quality.
- Work closely with project teams to implement cost-effective strategies and maximize project profitability.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and proposal documents.
- Generate reports summarizing project costs, profitability, and performance metrics.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and financial goals.
5. Project Management:
- Assisting in project management of current projects including site visits, coordination of materials and equipment and other duties assigned by construction manager.
- Reconcile change orders, progress draws and AIA payment requests as assigned by construction manager.
- Submit RFI's and Change orders for approval, track project progress, review project budgets and manage submittals.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements affecting electrical construction.
- Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance estimating skills and knowledge.
- Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices within the estimating department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating for construction projects, with a focus on commercial and industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in electrical estimating software (Trimble Accubid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Preferred):
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
Compensation commensurate to experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
