Experienced Commercial HVAC Technician

Qualifications: • 5+ years' experience in the commercial HVAC market • Clear driving record and valid driver’s license • EPA Certification required • High School Diploma or GED required • State AC License a plus but not required Technical Knowledge & Skill Set: • Understanding of principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating • Proficient in reading equipment schematic diagrams • Package AC units up to 50 Tons • Split systems, including VRF and mini-split • CRAC units • Experience with both pneumatic and DDC control systems • Ability to read and speak English fluently • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills • Able and willing to participate in a rotating “on call” team working after hours, weekends and public holidays in order to deliver outstanding customer service Essential Duties: • Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and equipment. • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in equipment and systems • Identify maintenance risks for aging equipment • Clean, adjust and repair systems, including identifying warranty repair work • Document all work using various reporting tools, including electronic forms • Communicate clearly with MWI staff and customer staff regarding ongoing work • Comply with all safety and health rules and standards • Comply with building codes and project specific standards • Comply with varying customer requirements regarding working rules Physical Requirements: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
