We have an immediate opening for an experienced Residential Electrician. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, as well as electrical components. We work with residential clients, so you must be able to diagnose and repair electrical wiring problems in a variety of homes, such as outlets, lighting, services and panels. Our ideal candidate has at least5-8 years of full-time electricalexperience. However, even more importantly than meeting the requirements for years of experience, we care mostly about the quality of work you do. At Zanite, the work needs to be done correctly, the first time. You’ll know the job was done right by paying attention to detail and delivering high-quality workmanship that you are personally proud of.
We will rely on you to be able to work unsupervised at times, so you need to be able to demonstrate the you can complete the following work on your own:
• Install outlets
• Install lighting fixtures and fans
• Troubleshooting electrical problems onsite that need replacement or repair; ensuring that the electrical system is working properly before leaving the client’s home
• Piping and pulling wires; ensuring piping complies with electrical codes
• Whole house rewiring; pulling old cloth wire and replacing with new wires
• Able to work with conduit and Romex
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
Other electrical work you need to be competent in when coming into this job:
• Panel changeouts and service upgrades
• Reading electrical blueprints and schematic drawings
• Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Planing layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Requirements
• 5-8 years of prior full-time electrical experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Transportation to job sites throughout Chicago city and south/southwest suburbs
• Can pass a background check and drug screen
• Possess and proficient with standard industry tools and techniques
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending and climbing ladders or scaffolding
• Physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduit
• Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time
We are headquartered in the south suburbs of Chicago. An ideal candidate will be able to easily commute to job sites throughout Chicago, particularly the south side, west side, and south suburbs of Chicago.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
