Job Description
Forrest is a small company with a long history manufacturing specialty machinery. Our order book is full and has been for a long time. We need some help building all this machinery. Our most immediate need is for someone to help fabricate all the frames, brackets, and other parts that go into large industrial machinery. You will almost certainly also be asked to help with assembly including basic wrench work, carefully calibrated assemblies, and maybe even some electrical wiring.
A Manufacturing shop is looking for experienced Fabricators/Welders. We are looking for talented candidates that can pass a welding test. Need to have a good understanding of metalworking and decent mechanical skills. The job is more than just welding there is a bit of wrench turning and power tool use. The job requires having your own set of hand tools and basic power tools such as drill or impact. This is not for fresh vocational school grads. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in using MIG, TIG, Cutting torch, Plasma cutter, Drill Press, Bandsaws, Shears, and Brake Press on Steel and Aluminum. We also require reliable transportation and attendance.
Responsibilities
Monday - Friday, 7am 3:30pm (Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed)
The ideal candidate must be a skilled fabricator that can take a job from start to finish
Ability to read/understand engineering drawings & specs to plan completion of pieces
Candidate must be able to do own fitting, cleaning, and preparation work
Cut, grind, machine, and form work-pieces as required accurately including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel and angle
Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performed
Layout components in accordance with detailed prints provided
Make necessary adjustments for different materials and thicknesses
Weld components using proper techniques and tolerances
Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealing
Perform final assembly to produce high quality finished products
Operate material handling equipment as needed based on safety guidelines
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Other miscellaneous duties as needed
Work in shop environment (It's Texas...so it gets hot and humid)
Skills
At least 2 years of fabrication experience
Physically capable to work in all positions for welding and fitting
Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet project deadlines
Ability to read unit of measurements and use various measuring tools
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate welding job tasks
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in fabrication
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Performs all other duties as assigned
Creative mindset
Forklift Experience is a Plus

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
