Field Service Junior Engineer

You as a Field Service Junior Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy based in Kuwait City, Kuwait. You will be performing remote and/or on-site service activities for protection systems and Remote Terminal Unit RTU in transmission and distribution substations in accordance with customer requirements and ensuring timely, cost-effective solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities:

• Performing relay, RTU, SCADA testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting at client substations.
• Applying knowledge of structured programming, communication techniques, and protocols.
• Troubleshooting system protection problems and schemes.
• Understanding different protection and communication schemes.
• Assisting in the installation and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
• Conducting testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection systems for equipment in substations up to 400KV voltage level.
• Participating in testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection systems in power stations and refinery environments.
• Training site operators in the use of systems and ensure site-specific manuals and documentation are available before handover.
• Consulting with clients or representatives to determine customer needs and priorities.
• Coordinating and overseeing substation technicians and electricians.
• Serving as a primary customer contact for specific projects.
• Maintaining a professional presentation when dealing with employees, clients, and suppliers.
• Preventing unnecessary outages while working in Brownfield Substations or on any type of energized equipment.
• Performing any other related tasks as required

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic & communication engineering.
• 2+ years' experience in the relevant field.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
