Job Summary:
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis as well as overseeing financial reporting, accounting and close related activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, compliance and taxes, and internal controls. This position requires experience in both accounting and finance, addresses tight deadlines and is responsible for managing accounting and reporting cadence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end close efforts across the enterprise to meet internal and external reporting deadlines
- Responsible for financial reporting and analysis, metrics reporting, improving financial intelligence, and processes to provide timely and accurate financial information to company leaders
- Support budget and forecasting activities across the enterprise
- Responsible for the accuracy and financial integrity of revenue and related account balances in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), contractual terms and conditions, law and regulations, tax reporting, including revenues captured from multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain and monitor appropriate system of internal controls and implement policies, procedures, and system modifications (both financial system and supporting applications) to ensure implementation of best practices and compliance with changing accounting standards
- Lead and manage the administration of invoicing operations and partner programs
- Provide progressive leadership to team to ensure on-going improvements (LEAN) to operations, service delivery and related business processes
- Remain aligned with evolving strategies and business requirements, as well as ensuring that policies, regulations and procedures are followed
- Provide best practices, leadership, resource management, work prioritization and operational oversight for cross functional team
- Organize and align staff resources, guide through major issues and find resolution
- Recruit, hire and establish individual and team job performance expectations and goals
- Coach/guide staff with system and job performance improvements and develop staff proficiency
- Develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance accounting and finance workflow across the enterprise
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, expense reporting, payroll, accounts receivable, and tax
- Performs any other analysis and activities as requested by supervisor
Experience/Training/Education/Certification
- Minimum 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Bachelorβs Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, Chartered Accountant or Public Accounting/Public Company experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Possess a strong understanding of GAAP, accounting systems and applications, process improvement and internal controls
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting set deadlines for team deliverables
- Experience in successful partnerships across organizations and particularly with systems teams in delivering system solutions and reporting enhancements
- Experience with ERP systems and related reporting tools (e.g., Netsuite, etc)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, (e.g., pivot tables, xlookup, sumproduct etc.)
- Understanding of large-scale data mining and reporting tools (PowerBI, SQL, Alteryx)
Physical Requirements
- Some travel will be required to integrate, learn, and help improve our regional teams
- Regularly required to sit in front of computer for long periods of time
