Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

· Support all month end (and year end) procedures for preparation of the management accounts including review of the P&L, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring appropriate accruals and prepayments are accounted for correctly

· Actively contribute to the successful running of the EU finance team, deputizing for the Finance Managers when they are on leave and proactively picking up and completing tasks as necessary

· Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements for the German company in accordance with German Accounting Standards

· Prepare the German quarterly VAT return and become the team’s expert on VAT related matters

· Supporting the business on finance related matters ensuring that the financial impact of actions taken by the commercial team is understood

· Provide insight and commentary into monthly margins and expenditure reports. Highlight key variances/deviations from budget and forecasts and offer recommendations to remedy shortfalls

· Oversee and review the monthly cash flow requirements forecasting for all currency accounts in conjunction with group cash flow management

· Provide support to other members of the finance team to ensure business continuity during times of annual leave, absence and busy periods

Projects:

· Implementation of new ERP and any new features that are rolled out

· Continuous improvement of billing process

Education:

Accounting or finance experience within private industry preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting preferred

Computer Skills:

• Advanced excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, graphs
• Previous use of ERP systems (e.g. Oracle / SAP / Sage); confident in understanding new systems

Language Skills:

Fluent in German and English. Any additional language is an asset.
