The Opportunity:
Key Accountabilities:
- Issuing Monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for all our Dry-Van Operating Divisions
- Responsible for processing all necessary Journal Entries, Provisions and Accruals in compliance with corporate reporting standards and corporate accounting policies
- Conducting timely and complete variance analysis for the Operating Division Leadership
- Monitor operational and financial performance, highlighting trends and other key insights
- Identify, quantify, and realize opportunities within the business to drive growth
- Work with Operating Division leadership on key financial metrics and strengthen their financial acumen
- Collaborate with Operating Division Leadership to prepare Budgets and Forecasts within the business planning framework for all Dry-Van Operating Divisions
- Responsible for all associated analysis and reporting packages
- Conduct strategic divisional scenario planning
- Other Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Account Reconciliations
- Assist with internal control initiatives
- Supporting the Annual Audit Engagement
- Participate and/or lead financial systems and process improvements
- Ad Hoc Projects when time allows
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management reporting, or financial planning and analysis role is required.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Accounting or Economics is an asset.
- Strong Excel skills are required (PIVOT Tables, VLOOKUP’s, HLOOKUP’s, XLOOKUP’s, SUMIFs, VBA, nested ‘if’ statements, etc.)
- Experience working with open-source data analytics, reporting and integration platforms (Knime, Alteryx, PowerBI)
- Able to work with and fully understand large quantities of data and organize in a presentable manner.
- Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, MS Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience working with Trimble TMW TMS or transferable working knowledge of other ERP platforms is an asset.
- Finance and Accounting Experience within Transportation & Logistics industry is an asset.
