Job Description

Description

Here at Mito we love creating clever things: websites and other complex, digital solutions for customers such as Telekom, Flip, OTP, among many others. We are super proud of the things we pull together and have fun while doing it. The only thing we like more than clever things and fun is if you’re a great full stack developer. Because we’re looking for you!

So are we looking for a medior or a senior developer? To be frank, both would be a great match for our team. So if you like what you see below then we should definitely talk.

Requirements

Your tasks will be

  • Building and coding websites on the front- and backend, individually or in a team.
  • Help our creative team to transform their mind-blowing ideas into feasible development projects.
  • Discuss technical solutions and share knowledge with other developers. Sometimes while playing football.
  • Take part in the development of our ever-evolving technology stack.
  • Love and nurture some of our internal tools. Most of them were born during a 24-hour long Hackathon and we have been raising them since.

We need you to have

  • You are fluent in OO PHP (preferably 7.x and higher). We use Laravel, but if you have experience with any other modern PHP framework (e.g. Yii 2, Symfony etc.) that’s totally OK.
  • An expertise in REST APIs.
  • You handle relational MySQL databases with a steady hand.
  • Rock solid hands with HTML, SCSS (Bootstrap, TailWind).
  • A sharp eye: we receive pixel perfect graphic designs from our internal UI team and they will reward you with a lot of love (sometimes beers), if you build them perfectly.
  • Developer-level proficiency with Figma.
  • Deep JavaScript knowledge (preferably ES6). We like Vue.js a lot, also Nuxt.js and Typescript as well. If you ride any modern JavaScript framework, even better!
  • If you already know Gulp, Webpack, and Vite that’s great. If not, you will become friends quickly.
  • Committed to version control (we use Git, but experience with SVN is also acceptable), has a basic understanding of using the Linux console (bonus points if you know how to exit vim!), and is proficient with Docker.
  • A love of change: since we work for clients, briefs and requirements can change. But hey, our project managers will guide you on this road, and it’s still better than being bored!

We’ll be super happy if

  • You are a CI/CD fan, because we are, too.
  • Your English is good enough to understand technical documents. (If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably passed the test.) We also need you to speak fluent Hungarian.
  • You have experience with automated testing frameworks.
  • You can participate in your teammates' code reviews. Don’t worry, if you do it well, they’re going to love you for it.
Benefits

Plenty of challenges. And endless resources to meet them.

  • All four of our business units work on impactful projects throughout the world. Your efforts can and will make a difference in people’s lives, whether they’re booking a plane ticket or want to be delighted by a funny commercial on TV.
  • World-class work requires world-class working conditions. Like a beautiful office in downtown Budapest, MacBooks (if you prefer so), coffee (if you prefer so), fruit (who doesn’t like that), beer, whatever.
  • Hybrid working environment, so you can work from home when you need to, though to keep everything and everyone on track, we do like to meet in person and spend some days at the office.
  • Our Level Up system will reward your professional progress with extra days off every year.

A community

  • Mito has always been a place where the only thing we take seriously is work, so you’ll be able to have fun and meet great people like yourself.
  • From Hackathons to office parties and Easter egg hunting for the kids, we love to spend time together either to get to know each other better or just to...you know. No reason.
  • Dogs are super welcome at the office, and have been ever since Mito’s inception.

The freedom to shape your benefits

  • Whether you’re into individual or team sports, looking for a new set of running shoes, or a gym pass, you can use your flexible personal budget to cover it. You may also use it to improve any of your talents, whether it's studying German, JavaScript, or how to fix a gas leak. We’ll chip in to take care of your medical expenses, if needed. Additionally, personal budgets can also cover commuting (fancy bike helmet included).
