Full Stack Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Your primary job is to support a dynamic, multi-tiered system comprised of nearly 100 applications, that provides core support and delivery of our flagship Career Achievement and Yearbook products. You'll accomplish this by authoring accessible, localized, performant, secure, standards-compliant, and well-tested computer code in Java, Scala, React JS, and other technologies that are deployed to the cloud. You will be asked to create comprehensive solutions to solve problems, and provide input for improvements in security, development and deployment process(es), and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Attributes

  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience
  • A team player, willing to offer knowledge and guidance to lift members of the team
  • Advanced knowledge of data management issues including storage, secure transmission, encryption, and transactional behaviors
  • Working knowledge and experience with Java, Spring, Tomcat, OAuth 2.0, Javascript
  • Experience with database technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with distributed systems within a Micro Service architecture
  • Ability to quickly learn a new tool or library
  • Quickly debug an application
  • Strong communication skills


Preferred Attributes

  • Worked on a team that does Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Built and managed large databases
  • Experience with Maven and/or Gradle
  • Experience with Docker
  • Contributed to an open source project
  • Worked on a large-scale, international, multi-million user app
  • Experience with various mechanisms for Authentication and Authorization (Groups, Roles, Permissions)
  • Messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ
  • Worked on delivering service APIs using REST or XML
  • Worked with applications built using an asynchronous, message-driven design
  • Experience with Bamboo, CircleCI, or similar build systems.
