Summary
As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. After 1 year of employment, you will be eligible for the following benefits:

This is a Crafts and Trades position. Regular step increases with satisfactory work performance.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- Incumbent must maintain and possess a valid driverβs license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of seasonal gardening tasks, such as fertilizing, preparing seedbeds, transplanting, laying sod, aerating, pruning, trimming, and applying chemicals to plants; grounds maintenance; skill in operating a variety of tractors and in operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of more than 10,000 and up to 26,000 pounds. Must be able to follow written and/or oral instructions, work orders, and specifications related to gardening, motor vehicle and tractor operation, and to perform preventive maintenance. Must be able to reach, bend, turn or move hands, arms, feet, and legs. Must be able to lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must possess a valid driver's license. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
