Here in the ThermoFisher One Lambda Clinical Lab at Fishers, IN, we are working towards bringing molecular technologies from bench-to-bedside and improving patient diagnostics and, are looking for a full-time Operations specialist to join the core team.

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile professional to join our clinical laboratory team as an Operations Specialist. The Operations Specialist will oversee the efficient management of laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards and optimizing resources for project success. This role focuses on logistical support, supply chain management, and maintaining operational excellence within the clinical lab.

A day in the Life:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day lab operations, including inventory management, purchasing, and facility coordination.


  • Manage supply chain logistics, including purchase order generation, supplier verification, and inventory control to support high-priority projects.


  • Coordinate plant-to-plant material transfers, ensuring timely and efficient movement of critical testing supplies.


  • Oversee equipment preventative maintenance and repair


  • POC and support internal and external audits


  • Manage, track, and report out on lab operations KPIs


  • Collaborate with facilities management for repairs, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.


  • Build and maintain a continuity plan in accordance with workflow and capacity.


  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, laboratory management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in demonstrated operations capacity driving operational efficiency and performance.


  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environment is strongly preferred.


  • Exposure and success working in a matrixed work environment


  • Strong project management skills with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and process optimization.


  • Proven ability to manage logistics, inventory, and purchasing activities in a regulated environment, with diverse supplier networks


  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
