What you'll be doing:
- Digital strategy: Work with business stakeholders within the company to determine priorities for the website and related marketing technology platforms and integrations. Research potential users to understand behavior and preferences. Bring all elements together to build a comprehensive digital marketing strategy and roadmap for bazaarvoice.com.
- Website refresh: Effectively plan and project manage a refresh of the website globally to showcase our full-funnel content positioning and social content aesthetic.
- Effective user experience: Leverage customer insights and best practices to build customer journey flows. As a starting point for the website, we want to convert business objectives and user insight into specific actions that customers come to the site to complete.
- Technical development roadmap for design and execution: Craft and manage an agile digital roadmap that supports these objectives and strategies. Flexible to changing business priorities.
- Search engine optimization: Lead ongoing website health optimization (e.g. keyword analysis across geographies) and ensure website content is optimized (paid and organic) for key search engines, Google and Bing.
- Localization: Bazaarvoice currently hosts multiple language sites. The Manager position is responsible for all versions of Bazaarvoice.com and will be expected to manage localization as needed, utilizing translation platforms such as Smartling GDN.
- Reporting and insights: Set KPIs. Create dashboards/quarterly reporting to monitor, by geography. Report on activity, demonstrate insight from the reporting, and communicate an on-going plan for how the learnings will inform the evolution roadmap.
- Continuous improvement: Analyze performance of all activities and implement the necessary changes to plans so that the business and marketing objectives are achieved. Keep up to date with industry best practice and monitor competitor websites.
- Day to day management: Plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade the Bazaarvoice website. Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues. Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures and resolving issues discovered through regular pentests, etc. Update HTML, CSS and JavaScript regularly. Ensure full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations (accessibility, cookie compliance, GDPR, etc.)
- Relationship development: Work with key marketing colleagues and other stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements; communicate plans and progress effectively and regularly to stakeholders for buy-in.
- Agency management: Develop strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to create a high-performing team.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- Proven 7+ years as a website and digital marketing manager in a B2B technology or software environment.
- Expert knowledge of Wordpress, W3C standards, and CMS information architecture best practices.
- Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery, web design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, and LAMP hosting environments/integrated devops platforms like Pantheon. Ability to QA code and new features.
- Prior experience of leading an in-house Agile development team and Jira project with swimlanes/backlog.
- Has created and rolled-out international websites and understands regional nuances.
- Experienced continually optimizing website health / SEO / UX design / page conversion.
- Understands Demand generating tactics (PPC, paid social, re-targeting, ABM, email, etc) and how the web user-journey can be optimized for conversion.
- Comfortable pulling performance data from multiple sources and to create actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and communicate clearly with co-workers and leadership team.
- Practical understanding of security, privacy and data protection compliance and best practices (e.g. GDPR, EU Cookie law etc).
- Attention to detail.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience with our marketing technology stack (WordPress, Pantheon, AWS, Wistia, Jira, Asana, SEMRush, GA4, Tableau, Looker Studio, Marketo, PathFactory, Drift, Consensus, Trendemon, Brandfolder, Smartling GDN, 6sense).
- Agency management experience.
- BA/BS preferred.
