Graphic Designer- Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Job Description

Works as part of an integrated team and is responsible for delivering graphic designs and/or graphic design concepts for a specific customer base, department, digital elements, 3-dimensional projects, Brand or Event. Supports and collaborates with VM Environmental Designers, VM Engineers, Project Managers, VM Digital, Sign Tech, Brand Creative and Event Marketing, to conceptualize and present designs meant to support strategies for business growth to fuel sales.

The VM Environmental Graphic Designer is proficient in current industry standards/trends and maintains and is current with Nordstrom Brand standards and store environments and digital assts within our environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, evolve and execute design concepts to support VM environmental design concepts, merchandising, signing and implementation of visual direction.
• Lead the branding and graphic efforts for environmental projects.
• Has a strong understanding of wayfinding, navigation and destination systems to support company initiatives that work within the store or building environment.
• Has a strong understanding of graphic design within a 3-dimensional space and how it supports the overall design concept.
• Create proposal decks for projects to ensure working partners understand and can visualize concept ideas.
• Able to create and present design concepts to requestors up and down the pyramid using VM recommended presentation methods and programs.
• Produce designs and drawings to support planning and rollout of new concepts.
• Must understand and successfully execute designs for large 3-dimensional projects.
• Create Vendor proposals, vendor specifications, production files and material specifications for bidding and execution.
• Can customize and/or iterate designs as appropriate for each project, store, division or event.
• Create production ready files for various print executions which vary based on type of project.
• Understand production methods and materials best suited for large scale 3-dimensional projects.
• Review, approve and/or correct proofs and commit to the process and timing outlined within the working group and/or vendor.
• Maintain a strong understanding of available VM Design tools and apply effective approaches to projects, tasks and initiatives.
• Understand and support Nordstrom Visual Merchandising, Rack and Sign Department processes and expectations.
• Know, understand and maintain Brand standards and be an ambassador of the brand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Graphic or Digital Design
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, digital design or retail design background preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, Adobe Suite including In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop and, Sketch up,
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Retail merchandising or retail design background preferred.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $69,000- $110,500 annuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
