Job Summary
The Command, Control, and Communications (C3) Engineering & Operations Department (CEOD) staff provide operationally-focused engineering solutions for space enterprise C3 systems, missions, and processes in support of our IC, DoD, and civilian customers. We deliver systems engineering support for missions and C2 system development; support ground system and architecture improvement efforts; lead system and software test planning and execution campaigns; influence future electronic warfare (EW) and space data transport (SDT) investments; provide operational C2 expertise for future systems; provide software development expertise; and, provide technical and operational experience with fielded space systems and real missions. This position will be onsite in Colorado Springs, CO with some possibility for a hybrid work model.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide systems engineering expertise to support the sustainment and modernization of Military SATCOM (MILSATCOM) satellite ground systems.
  • Actively participate in a range of technical and project engineering activities including, but not limited to, requirements development, software reviews (requirements, design, and implementation), software delivery (test, installation, checkout) and integration
  • Lead integrated product teams to develop, update, modernize, or transition software products, deliveries, and refreshes in support of MILSATCOM ground systems within technical scope, on schedule and budget, and with superior quality
  • Work across space mission and program boundaries to identify common program challenges and risks, provide enterprise recommendations, and lead issues to closure
  • Work closely and effectively with external partners in integrated product teams that include government, industry, and FFRDC members
  • Communicate effectively with customers and management through timely reporting of technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements: This position will be filled as a Senior Engineering Specialist.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution in engineering, mathematics, or technical science
  • 15 or more years of experience in project management, acquisition, systems engineering, ground systems, and/or MILSATCOM
  • Experience with AEHF satellite system
  • Experience operating in an Agile, DevSecOps, or other advanced software development environment
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team and manage multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, self-motivation, and willingness to take initiative
  • High level of creativity, initiative, and innovation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Active Secret security clearance; eligible for Top Secret SCI
  • Willing to travel approximately 25%

How You Can Stand Out
We would be impressed if you have any of these experiences:
  • Advanced degree from a recognized institution in an applicable STEM concentration
  • Certified in agile, project management, or related field
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams
  • Demonstrated software development proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with other mission areas like Space Domain Awareness (SDA); intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); command and control (C2); missile warning and missile tracking (MW/MT); and, position, navigation, and timing (PNT)
  • Experience working with projects that incorporated digital engineering or model-based systems engineering
  • Experience with US Space Force, SSC, and NRO customers

Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
