Group Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Group FP&A Analyst to join our Group finance team. The Group FP&A Analyst will play a key role in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Forecasting:

• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and long-term financial planning
• Building budget and forecast templates for the businesses to complete
• Analysing and challenging the financial and management information received from the businesses
• Gain a full understanding of the FP&A reporting system and how it is configured

Financial Analysis:

• Reviewing and analysing financial data relating to business initiatives, eg analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
• Reviewing the monthly management accounts and preparing analysis to explain variances of Actuals vs Forecast / Budget / Prior Year
• Trend analysis to understand the seasonality of the business
• Building financial models as required, eg for “what if” scenarios

Reporting:

• Assisting with the preparation of Leadership Team and Board Meeting presentations, including the monthly reporting pack, the annual budget presentation, forecast updates and other ad hoc presentations
• Assist with the further development and maintenance of KPI dashboards

Business Partnering:

• Support and challenge the businesses in the Group, eg by reviewing their forecast submissions and monthly financials
• Collaborate with various departments to gather management reporting information and ensure accountability, eg the reporting of non-financial KPIs
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic goals

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function
• Further automate the FP&A tasks to reduce manual workload and allow further analysis time

Ad Hoc:

• Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting and presentations as required by management

Experience & Attributes:

• 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, management accounting, or a related financial role
• Experience of working with Excel & PowerPoint at an advanced level and comfortable with manipulating complex data
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to work as part of a team and communicate with non-finance departments
• Highly motivated, results-oriented and proactive
• Strong attention to detail and highly organised
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Driven with the desire to build a commercial career in finance
