Global Manufacturing & Supply and Global Quality (GMSGQ) is the backbone of Takeda. We strive to ensure that our medicines are available wherever our patients are. Takeda's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Covington is one of the largest biotech production sites in the world. It has a key strategic role in our global manufacturing network, supplying quality therapies to our patients. As a Site Leadership Team (SLT) member and DD&T Business Partner, you will lead the site's technology transformation in the spirit of an agile, patient-centric organization.
How you will contribute:
- Inspiring new ideas, co-create solutions, and drive business outcomes with data, digital, and information technologies in close partnership with our Manufacturing Site in Covington. This role will be key in enabling the site to be leading in technology and innovation as part of the Plasma Manufacturing network in Takeda.
- Leading the site DD&T team and being a member of the Site Leadership Team. The role will provide direct supervision of individuals, including mentoring, performance management, and staffing decisions, as well as manage all activities of internal/external resources within the group.
- Provide direction for the Site DDT Community and for creating and maintaining Digital Roadmaps in line with Global DDT Strategy and OpU/Site Masterplan.
- Assuring that strategic and tactical plans are met and being responsible for budget commitments and forecasts.
- Shape and lead digital innovation at the manufacturing site level while maintaining global alignment through existing and emerging technologies.
- Engage in strategic initiatives, planning processes, and making technology recommendations to increase operational value.
- Alignment of Site Strategy with DD&T Roadmap & Strategy.
- Lead Tier 3 Site Digital Roadmap planning & execution alignment.
- Participate in the development of the Global DD&T vision and be responsible for translating the vision into short and long-term goals and deliverables.
- Support all DD&T transformational initiatives and apply them to existing priorities.
- Act as an advisor to the business, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and guide and co-create new capabilities with the business that are directly relevant to the manufacturing site improvement strategy. The role is responsible for aligning expectations between the business and service delivery and for driving business value.
- Determine and manage priorities, timelines, and schedules, with the ability to communicate priorities driven from global DD&T to plant-level senior leadership.
- Drive a risk management strategy that proactively addresses operational integrity, compliance, and cyber risk.
- Ensure proper GxP compliance within the infrastructure environment.
- Review multiple team, group, or service deliverables to ensure quality (design walk-through, test results, etc.) and adherence to processes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in all internal and external audits and provide services in a timely manner.
- Foster a collaborative environment for mentoring, learning, and innovation to help develop employees. Evolve the team in the context of a major digital transformation.
- Create and track key performance indicators to ensure alignment with plant and global functions.
- Create and manage both Capital and Operational budgets.
- Develop, gather, and measure relevant productivity metrics and create operational mechanisms to ensure a steady environment.
What you bring to Takeda:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of systems experience, including 5+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
- Experience with software application implementations and knowledge of network infrastructure, including technology stacks within a pharma plant environment, is mandatory.
- Understanding of Business Processes in manufacturing/labs.
- Ability to communicate with senior-level executives and ensure their engagement.
- Ability to participate in the strategy and objective alignments with the operational leadership.
Leadership
- Set clear team goals and KPIs with Business Partner and direct reports.
- Delegate tasks and set project deadlines.
- Oversee day-to-day team operation and performance.
- Employee performance evaluation.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Support training needs for the Business and/or DD&T Team.
- Provide Voice of the Customer feedback and continuous improvement to Global DD&T Teams.
Decision-making and Autonomy
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Leverage independent Judgment to determine optimal methods of task completion and work prioritization.
- Adherence to GMS/GQ's Policies, Processes and Standards.
- Authority to delegate Tasks and Responsibilities to other team members.
Interaction
- Working with and achieving results through others is a significant Part of this Role.
- Within the GMS/GQ DD&T team - working with peers and internal partners to deliver across business regions and programs (Factory of Future) in a seamless fashion.
- With other Plasma OpU Teams - provide seamless collaboration to the Factory of the Future Program by coordinating initiatives and involving multiple DD&T teams as required.
- External Partners: there are a number of external Partners providing Services to Takeda.

- Serve as a Single Point of Contact in Covington for all DD&T-related projects, services, and support within the assigned functions/businesses/programs.
- Participate in Function's/Business'/Program's leadership team meetings.
- Provide regular updates on planned initiatives and reports on IT operations and projects to the Covington site and/or FoF Program.

Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wearing protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
